SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Grow Annapolis is seeking a Volunteer Public Relations/Communications Coordinator who is a creative and innovative individual that will be responsible for promoting Grow’s mission and its programs through web communications, online and offline publications and events. This position is excellent for a current college student interested in non-profit organizations or an experienced professional looking for a excellent opportunity to be involved in the community.

The communications coordinator will develop, implement and coordinate the communications strategy including website development and media relations. The chosen candidate will have strong written and verbal communications skills along with dynamic interpersonal skills. In addition, experience in writing communications in social media outlets is highly desired.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Overseeing the Blog component of the website to ensure relevancy and consistency with the Organization’s mission.
• Creating a voice for the organization in social media outlets— Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIN—by working to ensure proper representation, and consistent brand messaging
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Serious Candidates will have the Following:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in journalism, communications,
public relations,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Written
communication should include experience in drafting press releases,
media collaterals, and website content;
• Experience working for in a non-profit and/or education is highly desired
