School Garden Initiative
The School Garden Initiative is a program of Grow Annapolis. This year we have partnered with our friends at the Anne Arundel Health Department, Annapolis Recreation & Parks Department and Annapolis Elementary School in an effort to start educational programs where kids get to participate in all aspects of the food system, from growing and harvesting, to preparing and eating nutritious meals.
Kids love gardening, and our hope is that through hands on experience children will deepen their sense appreciation for the natural world and food.
School Gardens
In 2011 we will be kicking off our School Gardens Initiative with the Annapolis Elementary School Garden. We’ll keep you posted.
School Curriculum
For interested schools we have school curriculum kits available.
Grow Camps
In 2011 we will be offering a Summer Adventures Gardening Day Camp through the Annapolis Recreation & Park Department’s Summer Camping Program. Kids 6-10 years of age will be able to register through the Annapolis Recreation & Parks Department on April 1st.
