Growing Healthy Foods Means Kids Having Fun!

Overview. Kids will be learning about growing healthy food, cooking, bees, butterflies and much more at this summer’s Grow Kids Garden Camp.

Gardening. Kids dig digging in the dirt and they will get plenty of chances as they learn how to plant and take care of their very own veggies. We will be joined by local farmers and kids will learn first hand where their food comes from and how it grows.

The garden is also an exciting place to explore the natural world, as kids learn about ecology through an up close view of the garden’s ecosystems. Kids will also learn how to compost unused food waste, harvest rainwater and many other lessons that will help them connect with food and the environment.

Cooking. Kids love making food! This summer we will be joined by local chefs and foodies as we learn how to prepare food from our garden and local farms.
Kids will also learn from nutrition experts about the importance of good food and why we need it to grow healthy and strong.

Fun. We will be having lots of fun outside as we take advantage of Annapolis Elementary School’s wonderful playground and jungle gym. We will also enjoy story time, songs and fun garden crafts.
