As part of our School Garden Initiative, Grow Annapolis will be holding a panel discussion at Annapolis Elementary on January 25th, 2011. The meeting will be held at 8:30 am and will be for teachers and parents interested in learning more about the Annapolis Elementary School Garden Pilot Project and how experiential learning in the garden can be incorporated into the classroom.

Our Guests will be:

Sue Myers, Annapolis Elementary School’s Principle; Joel Bunker, Executive Director of Grow Annapolis; Melissa Simmons from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clagett Farm. As the Clagett Farm Education Program Manager and an Educator, Melissa uses experiential learning techniques to teach kids; and Sarah Isbell of The FARM Institute (TFI), which is a non-profit educational farm located in Martha’s Vineyard. Martha’s Vineyard has a great program where each school has its own garden and garden coordinator, and Sarah has been involved with this program and TFI’s educational programs.
