Grow Annapolis will be hosting an orientation and work party for new and returning community gardeners of the City Dock Community Garden on Sunday May 5th, from 1-3pm.
This is a great time to meet your fellow gardeners, learn about the garden and get some work done on your plot and work on the City Dock Community Garden’s community and giving garden areas. If you are not a gardener at the City Dock Community Garden but would like to join us, we would love to have your company and help.
New gardeners are advised to add two bags of compost (e.g. Leafgro) to their beds before planting this spring. Our small plots are heavily used and need the addition of soil amendments at the beginning of the season. Seeds and starts will be available at the party. Tools, such as wheelbarrows, shovels and soil rakes will be provided. We will also have the walk behind rototiller available for those interested in cultivating their plots.
